Motor Tax/Cash Office
The public counters of both Motor Tax & Cash Office are open to the public 9.30am – 1pm, Monday to Friday (excl. public holidays).
Motor Tax: Customers are encouraged to renew their standard tax online at www.motortax.ie (forms available for download here also). Other options are to leave your application in the secure drop box at the main reception of Laois County Council or by using the postal service.
For Motor Tax queries please call 05786 64009. Please note that Motor Tax cannot be renewed over the phone.
Cash Office: A variety of other payments can be made online at www.laois.ie or over the phone by calling 05786 74308, Monday to Friday 9.30am – 3.30pm.

1) Can I top-up my Landfill keyfob online?

2) What can I pay for on the internet?
Users can pay for rent, housing loans, fire service charges, parking fines and landfill fob topups online. All payment options are HERE
Motor tax, water charges and NPPR (Non-Principal Private Residence) charges can also be paid for online. Please note that these are not administered by the County Council however (the payment options will redirect to a third-party website).

The Cash Office counter is currently open from 9.30am – 1pm, Monday to Friday (excl. public holidays).
Cash office payments can also be made over the phone until 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

If you have a keyfob you can top it up ONLINE.
If you wish to use the landfill and do not have a keyfob you can pay by credit/debit card onsite on a pay-as-you-go basis.

The Landfill is located in Kyletalesha, on the Mountmellick Road about 5 km outside of Portlaoise (eircode R32 RD45).
