Covid 19 Updated- Opening hours

We look forward to welcoming you back to the library from 10th May 2021.  Below you will find information on opening hours, services now available and how to access these services.

  • Library users will be asked to use a mask at all times unless exempt under Government guidelines
  • All patrons will be required to sign-in to monitor numbers and facilitate contact tracing.
  • Our Contact and Collect service will continue to run in tandem with the browsing by appointment. Just call your library to request a selection be made on your behalf. We will then give you a time to collect it
  • The library cannot provide study space, seating or access to PCs at this time
  • WIFI printing and self-service photocopying and scanning will be available at Portlaoise, Portarlington, Mountmellick and Abbeyleix libraries. Self-service photocopying Mountrath library

Regular Online Events

Storytime, will be delivered by the staff of Laois Libraries on Laois Libraries face book page, this includes:

Baby book club, 0-3 years Tuesday and Thursday, weekly at 10.30am.

Book bugs club, 4-7 years and

Rocket Readers 8-12 years Friday, fortnightly at 10.30am.

Adult Literature at Eleven, Thursday, fortnightly at 11.00am.
