Laois County Council wants your input into its Local Sports plan!
Laois Local Sports Plan Consultation Workshops
During April, Laois County Council is carrying out a variety of consultation exercises to support the development of our Local Sports Plan, which will guide the development of our Sport, Physical Activity, Recreation, Play and Leisure activities in Co Laois. To feed into this, we are inviting residents and stakeholders to input into our plan through workshops held at the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise:
- Tues, April 16th – Representatives of Sports Clubs, Local Activity Hubs, Private Instructors, Outdoor Recreation Providers etc
- Tues, April 16th – Representatives from National Government Bodies and/or Development Officers i.e. County or Regional Boards – Max 2 reps per sport
- Wed, April 17th – Representatives of Community Groups, community gyms, Family Resource Centres Health & Wellbeing Organisations etc.
- Wed, April 17th – Representatives of Education – Primary, Secondary, Further Education, Special Needs Educations Community Education, Training Centres, Voluntary Youth Groups & Youth Organisations etc.
- Thurs, April 18th – Older Adult groups, Disability Groups, Social Inclusion groups, Rural groups etc.
Laois Local Sports Plan Residents’ Survey
We have also created a residents’ survey to gather as broad a range of input as possible.
The survey is live from 1st April, 2024 and closes on Friday 17th May, 2024.

We have also created a stakeholders’’ survey and a survey for people working across Sport, Physical Activity, Recreation, Play and Leisure, to gather as broad a range of input as possible.
