Spring Into Storytime

Spring Into Storytime runs for the month of April every year. Public libraries throughout the country provide children’s storytime sessions and invite children, their parents, carers and other family members to join in and experience the joy of exciting tales! Spring Into Storytime is completely free!

Here are some of the special storytime events taking place in our libraries this year. Please contact each library directly to book your place.

Helena Byrne  – Tuesday 2nd April

Join Storyteller Helena Byrne for a fun-filled workshop of Spring-time Storytelling! We’ll get carried away into the magical world of folklore, with interactive games and songs for young and old alike.

11am     Mountrath Library

1pm       Portlaoise Library

3pm       Portarlington Library

Age Suitability: 3-7 years

Sarah Sparkles  – Friday 5th April

Come and join Storyteller Sarah Sparkles for a fun-filled time of storytelling, singing and to meet her puppets.

10am                  Abbeyleix Library

12 noon             Mountmellick Library

Age Suitability: 3-6 years

Duration: 45 minutes approx.

Caroline Keane  – Saturday 6th April

Inspired by Roald Dahl’s famous book The Enormous Crocodile, artist Caroline Keane will show you how to make your very own “Croc Puppet” in this Spring into Storytime craft session.

11am                  Stradbally Library

Age Suitability: 5-7 years

Vroom Town with Emer Conlon – Wednesday 24th April

Join children’s author Emer Conlon and her colourful cast of characters from the Vroom Town series of books!
