Notice of Publication of a Draft Traveller Accommodation Programme 2025-2029 and Proposal to Adopt.
In accordance with Section 9 of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act, 1998, Laois County Council, being the relevant Housing Authority specified under the 1998 Act, proposes to adopt a Traveller Accommodation Programme for five years for the functional area of Laois County Council.
The Draft Traveller Accommodation Programme 2025-2029 is available for public inspection during normal business hours from 2nd July, 2024 to 2nd September, 2024 inclusive, at the following Civic Offices:
- Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lawlor Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois R32 EHP9.
- All Public Libraries in County Laois.

Submissions to the Draft Traveller Accommodation Programme are invited and should be made:
- In writing to the Senior Social Worker, Housing Department, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lawlor Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
- In writing to Housing Allocations, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lawlor Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

The latest date for submissions is 16:00 hrs on Tuesday, 3rd September, 2024.

LAOIS COUNTY COUNCIL TRAVELLER ACCOMMODATION PROGRAMME 2019-2024
Laois County Council has, pursuant to the provisions of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation ) Act 1998, adopted a Traveller Accommodation Programme for County Laois for the period 2019-2024.

This Programme contains an assessment of accommodation needs, projected needs, a policy statement regarding Traveller accommodation and strategy for the implementation of the accommodation programme.
