Dry recyclables can be deposited at Portlaoise Recycling Centre, which is located on the same site (i.e. you do not need a keyfob to gain access to the recycling centre).  Full details of the Recycling Centre can be found here. The cost is €5 (exact change required) per visit. Electrical appliances (WEEE goods) are accepted free of charge.

Refuse collection for householders in Co. Laois is privatised.  Details of permitted collectors are available from the Environment Section on (057)-8674322.  Remember, it is extremely important to use a waste collector that has an authorised waste collection permit (otherwise if your refuse is given to a ‘man and a van’, who illegally dumps your refuse, you are still legally responsible for it).
