Over the last few years, the Council has worked with many Secondary School students and teachers on a variety of environment related topics. One of the dedicated secondary schools projects is the Eco Media Project.
In the project, students script, direct and film their own short movie on an environment related topic. The environment themes which they can choose from are litter and waste, energy conservation, water conservation, travel or climate change. (These themes mirror the themes in the Green Schools programme).
Typically, students from Transition Year, CSPE and/or those who have a Film Society have participated in the project although it is open to any group in Secondary School.
Full details of the project is available from Ann-Marie Kelly, Environment Awareness Officer on 057 867 4331/087 2492293 or email amkelly@laoiscoco.ie
