As part of the Laois Libraries Summer Stars reading programme, Jennifer Farley’s book, “Scout’s Best Day Ever”, came to playgrounds, parks and walks across the county for the summer holidays. The book was installed on boards so families could walk around and read the book about Scout’s travels around Ireland from Dublin to Donegal.

Jennifer’s book takes Scout from Donegal to Cork, from the Giant’s Causeway to Salthill. The book which is beautifully illustrated engages children aged 4-10 and promotes reading in a fun and active way while enjoying the outdoors – encouraging children and caregivers to call to the library after their walk and collect their books and Summer Stars merchandise.
