Circus Explored

Circus Explored is an initiative led by the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network in association with Creative Ireland. It was delivered for the first time in 2022, in partnership with Galway Community Circus, Dublin Circus Project, Cloughjordan Circus Club and Circus Factory, Cork. Building on last year’s success in the distribution over 1,500 juggling sets and skills workshops across Ireland, in 2023 ISACS are partnering with the same organisations, this time to distribute 4,000 free spinning plates to every county.

Pick up  a spinning plate set from your local Laois  library and get practising for Cruinniú na nÓg as part of Circus Explored! This initiative encourages every child in Ireland to have fun learning how to spin a plate.

Sets can be collected  on a first-come-first-serve basis. They will be accompanied by a postcard with a QR code so that you can access tutorials to learn how to spin a plate with young circus practitioners from the partnering organisations.

The overall initiative will conclude with an island-wide day of activity in each partner centre on June 10 for Cruinniú na nÓg at: Galway Community CircusDublin Circus Project, Circus Factory CorkCloughjordan Circus ClubIn Your Space Circus, Derry, Raphoe & Newtownstewart; and Circusful, Belfast.
