Our offices will close to the public from 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 22nd December, 2023 and will re-open at 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024. To report an issue on water supply/water quality or wastewater please contact Irish Water on 1800 278278.
An Roinn Pleanála, – Planning Department,
The Planning Department will close to the public from 1.00 p.m. on Friday, 22nd December, 2023 and will re-open at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024. Pre-planning meetings are suspended from the 15th December 2023 until Thursday, 11th January, 2024.
Mótarchánach, Oifig Airgid – Motor Tax, Payments Office
The Motor Tax and Cash Office (Payments Office) will close at 12 noon on Friday, 22nd December 2023 and will re-open for business from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday,
2nd January 2024. For standard motor tax renewals, customers should avail of the online option at www.motortax.ie.

Please remember to keep Laois tidy during the Christmas period
The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will be closed from Saturday, 23rd December to Wednesday, 27th December 2023 (inclusive) and on Sunday, 31st December 2023 to Monday, 1st January, 2024 (inclusive). The Dog Pound/Shelter will be open on Thursday, 28th December, Friday, 29th December and Saturday 30th December, 2023 between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. for the public to bring in stray, reclaim or rehome dogs. The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will re-open as normal on Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024.
Always remember to keep your dog under effectual control and accompanied at all times in a public place. Ensure your dog has a microchip & certificate of ownership and a current/valid licence, available at all post offices or online at: www.licences.ie
