Judging Panel along with

Live Well Expo impresses National Age Friendly Recognition & achievement Award Judges

On Friday the 20th of September, the Live Well Expo faced a judging panel following it’s shortlisting in the communications category for the upcoming Age Friendly recognition and achievement awards. 
The Council chamber at Laois County Hall was at capacity as the organisers of the event, Emma O Connor of Healthy Laois and Tom Curran of Age Friendly Laois presented the initiative to judges Madelaine Quirke and Eileen Hughes , representing age Friendly Ireland.

Abbeyleix Bog Project to represent Laois in Pride of Place 2024

The judges will visit Abbeyleix Bog on the 25th of July to view the project and attend a presentation by the volunteers and community involved. Feel free to join us on the day, starting in Abbeyleix Manor Hotel at 2.15 for a presentation , followed by a walk around the bog. After the event there will be a gathering at a location to be confirmed

Urban Regeneration and Development Fund

The Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) is a flagship element of Project Ireland 2040. Under the stewardship of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Fund was established to support more compact and sustainable development, through the regeneration and rejuvenation of Ireland’s five cities and other large towns, in line with the objectives of the National Planning Framework (NPF) and National Development Plan (NDP).

Local authorities provide and maintain nameplates on public streets and in local authority housing estates.

Street Furniture

Local authorities may provide and maintain seats, planters, cycle stands and decorative lighting on public streets and in public parks and playgrounds to improve the area.
