VEX Robots make their way to various Laois schools

For the second year running, VEX Robotics kits (the IQ kits) are making their way to various Laois primary schools for the 2024-25 schools competitions. Laois STEM Engagement Officer Seanie Morris and Broadband Officer Antoinette Brennan have been delivering game kits and robot build kits to 12 schools, providing tips and tricks for the school teams along the way. These schools will build and test a robot that will compete in this academic year's VEX IQ Robotics Competition called Rapid Relay.

The aim is to encourage boys and girls to take part in a STEM activity, learn teamwork skills, encourage an interest in robotics and coding - and ultimately challenge themselves against other schools to win and progress to the next levels of the competition - from Regionals to Nationals and finally to the World VEX Robotics Championships in Texas next April.
