Pay Parking

Laois County Council enforces on-street parking and may act against people who park illegally, do not display a valid parking ticket, permit or motor tax disc, exceed the maximum stay restrictions or do not pay parking charges.

Hours of operation

Pay Parking is in operation 

  • between the hours of 08:30 and 17:30 hours 
  • Monday to Saturday

Please note that Pay and Display is not in operation on Sundays and bank holidays

Parking rates

The first 45-minutes is free from when you first park your vehicle.

The parking fee is €1 per hour thereafter.  Parking is restricted to a maximum of two-hour parking at all on-street car parking and in JFL car park.  No all-day parking is allowed at these locations.

Members of the public can avail of one period of free parking per day only.

All day parking

Long-term parking (24 hours) is available at the following locations and rates;

  • Civic Plaza (County Hall) Car Park - Rate €2.40 per day
  • Triogue/Church Street Car Park – Rate €2.40 per day
  • Railway Street Car Park – Daily, weekly and monthly payment options are available at this location as follows: -
