Local Transport Plans
A Local Transport Plan (LTP) assesses a towns transport needs and challenges, and sets out diverse ways in which these challenges will be addressed.
It examines all transport modes and how they interact both in the town centre and throughout its environs, specifically including linkages with public transport modes such as rail and bus services.
The LTP will guide future transport investment with specific focus on sustainable and active travel, making it easier and safer for people to walk and cycle in our towns and have better access to public transport.
Laois County Council has developed LTPs for the towns of Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick.
A LTP has been prepared for Carlow-Graiguecullen by Carlow County Council.
