A RED Weather WARNING means “shelter in place” i.e. everybody should be indoors before the start of the red warning and not leave that place under any circumstances before the end of the red warning.
During the RED WARNING emergency services will only be dealing with emergencies that pose an immediate threat to life.
Public Transport will not operate during a RED WARNING.

The electricity network is expected to be severely impacted; the public is advised to prepare for the arrival of the storm including ensuring their mobile phone is fully charged to enable communication.
ESB Networks is highlighting the dangers posed by fallen live wires and is advising the public and the emergency services to stay away from these fallen cables and to report such cases to it immediately. - Remember to secure loose objects (e.g. trampolines, garden furniture) before the storm.
- Stay indoors as much as possible – do not go outside to repair damage while the storm is in progress.
- Make sure that any vulnerable neighbours or relatives are safe and help make arrangements for any repairs.
