The thaw will be gradual over the weekend and, in elevated areas, a full thaw is unlikely unit Sunday/Monday.
Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid elevated areas over the weekend. The thaw will be slower in these areas and road conditions will continue to be very poor. Footpaths will also remain dangerous for long parts of the weekend.
Beware of shards of ice and snow, falling from roofs.
Avoid driving to elevated areas (Slieve Blooms etc.) for amenity purposes this weekend.
