4.45pm Storm Éowyn Update Laois

⚠️ 4.45pm Storm Éowyn Update Laois

Fire and Roads crews have been out since the lifting of the red warning from 11.00am today.

42 of the tree down cases have been dealt with by the Fire Service.  12 tree down cases remain at the time of issuing this update.

Additional tree down cases above those reported by the public are being identified through inspection.

Where possible the council will signpost these cases, however the public should continue to drive with caution as additional cases may occur through weakened trees.

Work to address storm damage will continue throughout the weekend by Laois County Council crews.

From 5.00pm this evening, Friday 24th January 2025, we will be standing down our emergency hotline.

We wish to thank the public for their assistance during storm Éowyn and its aftermath.
