Laois County Council, to support shopping local, will provide 2-hours free parking every Saturday in December in Portlaoise, Mountmellick and Portarlington in the run up to Christmas.
This relates to parking charges only as the council will continue to enforce illegal parking on double yellow lines, footpaths, loading bays and disabled bays.
