Laois County Council tenants must pay weekly rent to the Laois County Council for their property.

How to pay your rent

Rents are payable on a weekly basis in advance. Tenants have a variety of options  for paying their weekly rent. Visa/Mastercard debit and credit cards are accepted.

Pay online 

You must register to pay online at the MyCoCo Website . If you have already registered, login using your email address and password.

Household Budget Scheme

If you are in receipt of Social Welfare and collect your payment in the Post Office, then your rent can be deducted at source through the  Household Budget Scheme. Please complete the Household Budget Deduction form

Standing order

Pay through your bank by completing the standing order form below and return to Rents Collection, Laois County Council, County Hall, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 EHP9).  Please contact your account manager prior to completing the form.

By phone

Please call 057 867 4308 (please ensure you have your Customer account number prior to calling). 

At the Cash Office at County Hall, Portlaoise

The office is open to walk in customer between 09.30-1.00pm. After lunch the office is accessible by phone only between 2.00pm - 3.30pm. Call 057 867 4308

By post

Send cheques, postal and money orders (no cash for security reasons) to Cash Office, County Hall, Portlaoise, Co., Laois

Payment card

Payment Cards can be used in local shops, Post Offices and Credit Unions.  Please request a payment card by calling 057 866 4180 or 057 866 4140

How is my rent calculated?

Rents in all houses are based on the Differential Rent Scheme which was last reviewed in 2016. Rents are calculated on the basis of household income in accordance with the scheme.

What about privacy and security?  

Realex processes all financial transactions securely, ensuring credit/debit card information is not transmitted outside the secure site.

For all the payment types above it is important to keep your receipt in the event of any query on your account.  Online payment receipts are available to download and are emailed to the account used at registration.
