Laois County Council provides financial support to community and voluntary groups to support festivals and events which attract visitors to the County - The Tourism Grant Scheme (Festivals and Events)

Local Enterprise Offices may provide financial support to businesses to explore and develop new market opportunities, exhibit at trade fairs, prepare marketing material and develop websites for overseas markets.

Local authorities provide financial support to community and voluntary sporting organisations to develop and improve sports and recreation premises, pitches and equipment.

Laois County Council provides financial support to business owners to improve the appearance of shop fronts and commercial properties on public streets.

Laois County Council may provide financial support to homeowners to upgrade or replace septic tanks or domestic waste water treatment systems.

The LEADER 2023-2027 Programme, co-funded by both the EU and the Department of Rural and Community Development – is a programme to support communities and businesses across Laois to build on what they have in their local area; overcome social and economic challenges and protect and enhance their local environment.

Local Enterprise Offices may provide financial support to small businesses in the first 18 months following the start up stage.

Laois County Council may provide financial support to owners of historic structures and buildings to conserve and improve them for the benefit of communities and the public.

Local authorities may provide financial support to group water schemes to extend or upgrade an existing rural water scheme.
