Leaves is an annual celebration of literature and music, culture and community run by the Laois Arts Office and the Laois County Library Service. The festival returns to a host of venues throughout County Laois from 6 - 9 November with an inspiring and engaging programme of readings, workshops, films, panel discussions and live music.
To name but a few of our events, the festival highlight is guaranteed to be an unforgettable evening of poetry and music featuring Pulitzer and T.S. Eliot prize winning poet Paul Muldoon, master fiddle player Caoimhín Ó’Raghallaigh and the legendary accordionist Brendan Begley.
Look out for a conversation between broadcaster and founder of Ireland’s largest book club, Rick O’Shea and two very compelling, fresh voices in Irish Literature, Caoilinn Hughes and Cathy Sweeney.
Or hear Kevin Curran reading, from his book Youth, in various locations around the county including Portlaoise Library, Mountmellick Library, the Dunamaise Arts Centre and the Midlands Prison.
