Adult Evening Book Club: meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm.

Chapter One Book Club: meets monthly on the last Friday of the month at 11am.

Genealogy Club: meets monthly on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Ciorcal Comhrá: meets every Wednesday evening at 5:30pm. Suitable for all levels.

Knitting Circle: meets every Wednesday morning at 11am.

Literature at Eleven: meets monthly on Thursdays at 11am.

English Learner's Book Club: meets monthly on Mondays at 11am.

Portlaoise Women's Shed: meets every Friday morning at 10am.

Tales & Adventure Storytime: takes place every Wednesday afternoon at 4pm.

Baby Book Club: meets fortnightly on Thursday mornings at 10:30am.

Radioactive Readers Book Club: meets monthly on Tuesday afternoons at 4pm. Suitable for ages 7-9 years.

Tweens Book Club: meets monthly on Thursday afternoons at 4pm. Suitable for ages 10-12 years.

Young Adult Book Club: meets monthly.

Halloween Story Writing Competition

We’re excited to announce the winners of our Halloween Story Writing Competition! In the 6–8 age category, congratulations to Matt Treacy (age 8) for his creative story, "The History of the Adidas Factory". In the 9–12 age group, Anastasia Hrinkevych (age 9) took the top prize with her spooky tale, "The Spooky Old House".

Both winners have received a certificate and a voucher for Ken Black Toy Shop to treat themselves. Congratulations to Matt and Anastasia for their fantastic stories! Have a read of both below:
