Jacinta Barrins will talk about major social, cultural and environmental changes in Ireland since the 1950s and 60s. Jacinta will look back at how life has changed with advances in technology, economy and ways of living and the implications for how we relate to our environment. Informed by her experience and analyses, she will offer a critical reflection on the role of people over the age of 60 in climate change.

Jacinta provides this unique programme of work to accommodate the ageing population for sustainable futures as they have long term knowledge on what has changed within society through generations. She explores ways in which they can have impact on climate change around them, whether that's by buying smarter with consumer choices each day or passing down environmental stewardship values to a younger generation. Jacinta will also present concrete strategies over-60s can implement to reduce their carbon emissions, support local community projects and engage in intergenerational conversations that create a more sustainable future.
