Laois County Council Arts Service invites applications for the following awards and opportunities to individuals/groups and organisations.
1: Arts Act Grants 2025
Provision has been made by Laois County Council for the payment of grants to Laois arts organisations and individuals who meet the artistic and financial criteria set down by Laois County Council and who provide adequate information on their proposed activities. Maximum amount payable will not exceed €1000.
2: Tyrone Guthrie Residency Bursary Awards 2025
A bursary is available to enable two Laois artists to spend one week working at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in County Monaghan. The bursary is open to artists in all fields and is selected based on previous achievements and projects in hand.
3: Artists in Schools Scheme 2025
Grants are available for artists’ residencies in schools, to include all art forms. This scheme gives primary and post primary schools the opportunity to work with professional artists and explore new arts media. Four awards will be made. The budget is €2500 for the Artist in Schools Scheme and the project submitted should demonstrate ambition and cooperation between the artist and school.
5: Art Studios and Artist Apartment at Laois Arthouse, Stradbally
Expressions of interest are invited for three Laois Arthouse Studios in Stradbally. One apartment is also available for an artist working in the Laois Arthouse. Studios and apartment are €250 per month each, including utilities and waste disposal. Available for a period of up to six months. Facilities include an exhibition space, kiln, garden, public library and WIFI. A viewing of the studios can be arranged.

6: Laois County Council Film Bursary
Applications are invited for the Laois Short Film Bursary. This funding of €10000 is to fund the making of a short drama film or short documentary film. A prerequisite of this award is that it is produced and/or written by a Laois born writer or film maker. The film must be filmed on location in Co Laois and completed by the year end in 2025. A public screening of the film will be arranged locally by the Arts Office in association with the Dunamaise Arts Centre.
7: Culture Night 2025
Applications are invited from individuals and groups interested in hosting Culture Night events on Friday 19th September. These events are free to the public, and take place in the evening and nighttime. They are publicised locally and nationally.
Towns interested in hosting the Culture Night outdoor event, supported by the Arts Office, are also invited to send an expression of interest. This is a great opportunity to bring together the local community, including schools and groups to engage with professional artists and musicians to create an outdoor spectacle. One town will be selected.
Closing date for receipt of these completed applications is 5pm, Friday 28th February 2025

Laois Arts Grants Information Night
All awards and opportunities will be discussed at the Arts Grants Information Night. It is advisable to attend to learn more about arts funding opportunities and the application process.
