In order to make our content understandable to the reader we have to place importance on the hierarchical structure of it.  

When publishing pages you will be given the option to apply different HTML headings tags -  h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6

Below is a visual representaive of these headings and guidance on when and where they should be used

h1 - Heading 1

There is only every one h1 - Heading 1 on your page

h2 - Heading 2 

You can have multiple h2 - Heading 2 on your page e.g.

h3 - Heading 3

This is a subset of h2 - Heading 2. You would never have a h3 - Heading 3 under h1 - Heading 1.  It would always fall under a h2 - Heading 2

h4 - Heading 4

This a subset of h3 - Heading 3.  You would never have a h3 - Heading 3 under h1 - Heading 1, h2 - Heading 2.  It would always fall under a h3 - Heading 3. It would always fall under a h3 - Heading 3

h5 - Heading 5

This is a subset of h4 - Heading 4.  You would never have a h5 - Heading 5 under a h1 - Heading 1, h2 - Heading 2 or h3 - Heading 3.  It would always fall under a h4 - Heading 4

h6 - Heading 6

This is a subset of h5 - Heading 5.  You would never have a h6 - Heading 6 under a h1 - Heading 1, h2 - Heading 2, h3 - Heading 3 or h4 - Heading 4.  It would always fall under a h5 - Heading 5.  See example below
