The annual Battle of Wits TY Schools Quiz made its return to libraries this year. Following a successful schools’ round, the county final took place at Portlaoise Library on Thursday, November 14th, at 5 PM. The top three teams from each school were invited to participate in this final event.
The top two teams from the county final will go on to represent Laois in the Regional Final, scheduled for December 5th at 11 AM in Athlone.
It was an intensely competitive quiz, with a tiebreaker needed to determine the second and third place standings. Scoil Chriost Ri came first and each team member was presented with a Battle of Wits plaque. St Fergal's came second and received silver medals while Dunamase College came third and received bronze medals.
