The Fort’ is a vibrant new venue supported by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund, the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
Opened in July 2024, it transforms part of the historic 16th Century Fort Protector into a modern, covered outdoor space for performances and events.
Designed for versatility, it hosts cultural performances, concerts, theatrical productions, and community events, with a capacity of 2,000 standing and 500 seated guests.
This makes it ideal for large events, boosting the local economy and cultural tourism.
‘The Fort’ revitalizes urban spaces by blending heritage with contemporary infrastructure, promoting sustainable, culturally enriched public areas and community engagement.
