Are you passionate about public speaking? Europe Direct Portlaoise invites you to take part in its annual Soapbox Public Speaking Competition, taking place on Tuesday, 12th November at 6pm in Portlaoise Library.
This year's thought-provoking topic is: "A.I. is NOT A THREAT to humanity". You will have 3 minutes to express your views agreeing or disagreeing with the statement. Contestants will compete in one of two categories: 16 & under and 17 & over. Speakers on the evening will be in with a chance to win an iPad!
The winner from each category will be invited to take part at the National Final in Dublin on 26th November, to compete for a first prize of €1,000.
