Art Classes - a new series of art classes with LOETB tutor Billy will start on Tues, 25th Feb at 11am and continue for 5-weeks. Suitable for beginners and improvers. Places are limited so booking is essential. Call or email the library directly to reserve a spot.
Ciorcal Comhrá - the group meets on Saturday mornings at 11am. All welcome!
Knitting Group – the group meets every Wednesday morning at 10:30am. All levels of skill are welcome to come along for chats and tea.
Bridge Club – the club meets every Thursday morning at 11am. All welcome.
Adult Book Club – the club meets on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30pm. Next meeting taking place on Thurs, 27th Feb.
Art Gallery – the gallery is delighted to host an exhibition by Angela Van Wyk for the month of February. The collection will consist of various pieces depicting a selection of landscapes and abstract works through the medium of oils.

Art Gallery - the gallery in Mountmellick is delighted to host local artist John Drumm's exhibition for the month of February. Entitled Dance Again, the exhibition consists of paintings of club scenes and nights out in a post-Covid Ireland. The exhibition will be launched on Tues, 4th Feb at 6pm with all welcome to attend.

Blind Date with a Book - running in the library from 4th-28th Feb. Expect thrills, romance, murder, magic, tearjerkers, pure escapism and maybe even some spice! Choose your mystery book (with complimentary treats), read it, rate your date by filling in the review and return it to us by Tues, 4th Mar to enter our prize draw.
BorrowBox Demo - pop into the library on Thurs, 20th Feb from 10am-1pm for a BorrowBox demonstration and learn how to download the app and borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines on your tablet or phone. Contact the library directly for more details.

Portlaoise Women’s Shed - meets every Friday at 10:30am. Run by volunteers, they are a non-profit charity focused on reducing isolation and fostering a community of kindness and support. Form Filling Support - The Form Filling Support & Digital Hub at Portlaoise Library offers free and confidential help with form filling, digital queries, and smartphone support. This drop-in clinic runs every Tuesday from 10am–12pm. For more info, contact tlatham@loetb.ie or 085 8560160.

Movie Screening - Celebrate Irelands Reads Day with a screening of the 1967 film adaptation of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood on Tues, 18th Feb at 11am. Tea & coffee will be served, and copies of the book will be available to borrow in advance. Register your place here.
