Laois County Councils plays a crucial role in helping both new and existing tenants manage their tenancies effectively. These supports are designed to ensure tenants are well-informed and can address any issues they may encounter.

Tenant liaison and social worker support

Laois County Council offers comprehensive support to tenants through dedicated Tenant Liaison Officers (TLOs) and a Social Worker. These professionals are available to assist tenants with a variety of issues. If you are a local authority tenant needing advice or facing problems such as anti-social behaviour, you are encouraged to reach out for help. Pre-tenancy courses for new tenants 

To help new tenants settle in, Laois County Council conducts pre-tenancy courses at County Hall. These courses cover essential topics such as setting up rent payments and managing waste disposal contracts. The aim is to provide new tenants with the knowledge and resources they need to manage their tenancies successfully from the outset.
 

Rent payment assistance

Tenants who require assistance or advice regarding their rent payments have a dedicated point of contact. The team is available to provide guidance and support to ensure that tenants can manage their rent obligations effectively.
