Permission to Reside Request

Laois County Council may allow someone to move in with a current tenant in a local authority home.

How do I apply?

Laois County Council may approve adding a new adult to your household or making them a joint tenant. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Submit the Form:
    1. Fill out and submit the form to the Housing Department before the new person moves in.
  1. Property Suitability:
    1. Ensure the property is suitable for all household members.
  2. Rent Account:
    1. Make sure the rent for the property is fully paid and up to date.
  3. Income Details:
    1. Provide income details of the new person to be assessed according to the Rents Scheme.

The Housing Department of Laois County Council will review your application and notify the primary tenant in writing. The primary tenant is responsible for all household members' actions. Any tenancy breaches by any household member can lead to tenancy termination.
