Health and Safety Management

Laois County Council, manage public health and safety by regularly inspecting local authority buildings and work activities, investigating accidents and incidents and taking appropriate action.

Laois County Council is responsible for the occupational safety, health and wellbeing of employees and has a duty of care to others who may be adversely impacted by our operations / activities.  

The adoption of our Occupational Health & Safety Management System is intended to enable Laois County Council to provide safe and healthy workplaces, prevent work-related injury and ill health, and continually improve its Occupational Health and Safety performance. This has allowed us to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, which in turn assists in further embedding a proactive and consistent approach to safety, health and wellbeing management in Laois County Council.
