Laois County Council publishes national codes of conduct for local authority employees and councillors to protect public confidence in local government.

The code of conduct for employees

The Code of Conduct for Employees applies to employees of city and county councils.   It set out principles of behaviour that an employee of a local authority must adhere to in the performance of his/her duties.

The code of conduct for Councillors

The Code of Conduct for Councillors applies to members of city and county councils.  It sets out principles of behaviour that an elected member of a local authority must adhere to in the performance of his/her duties.
