What do I need to register a trailer manufactured before October 29th 2012?
The following is required to register trailers that were manufactured before October 29th 2012:
- TF100 (Trailer/Semi-Trailer Licensing) form
- TF300B (Weight Identification Certificate for a trailer outside the scope of type approval) form – signed and stamped by the manufacturer or an Approved Test Centre
- Proof of address (i.e., utility bill from within the last 3 months)
- Evidence of PPS/VAT Number of the owner
- The original invoice or lease agreement for purchase of the trailer (showing the VIN/Chassis number)
- Registration fee of €60
Please note we cannot issue the trailer card at the counter, but it will be posted to the applicant’s registered address.
What do I need to register a trailer manufactured from October 29th 2012?
The following is required to register trailers that were manufactured on or after October 29th 2012:
- TF100 (Trailer/Semi-Trailer Licensing) form
- TF300A (Weight Identification Certificate for a type approved trailer) form
- Proof of address (i.e., utility bill from within the last 3 months)
- Evidence of PPS/VAT Number of the owner
- The original invoice or lease agreement for purchase of the trailer (showing the VIN/Chassis number)
- Registration fee of €60
- One of the following certificates of approval for the trailer:
- An EC Certificate of Conformity (EC CoC) for a complete or completed trailer
- Irish National Small Series Type Approval Certificate of Conformity (NSSTA CoC) for a complete or completed trailer
- Irish Individual Vehicle Approval Certificate (IVA Certificate) – meets Ireland’s approval for trailers imported or special/individual trailers

How do I change ownership of a trailer?
To change the ownership of a registered trailer, the following is required:
- TF200 (Notification of Transfer of Trailer Ownership) form - completed by both the seller and buyer
- The original trailer card

- A completed RF134 form signed in the presence of your local Garda Station
