Our highly-trained firefighters and officers work from eight fire stations and headquarters and are on call 24hrs a day, 365 days a year to respond to your requests for assistance.

Where are the Fire Stations in Laois?

There are eight Fire Stations around Laois:

  • LS11 - Portlaoise Fire Station
  • LS12 - Portarlington Fire Station
  • LS13 - Rathdowney Fire Station
  • LS14 - Durrow Fire Station
  • LS15 - Mountmellick Fire Station
  • LS16 - Mountrath Fire Station
  • LS17 - Abbeyleix Fire Station
  • LS18 - Stradbally Fire Station

What is included in each station?

Each station includes:

  • one standard Class B Pumping Appliance 
  • a light four wheel drive vehicle

These carry the standard range of firefighting and rescue equipment for most incidents.  We also have a range of special appliances based around the country for example:

  • Water Tankers
  • Emergency Tender
  • Hydraulic Platform
  • Four wheel drive Wildfire Units and 
  • Technical Rescue Units
