If the charge for a chimney fire is paid within 14 days from the date of issue of the invoice, a reduction of 25% of the total cost will be applied.
Fire Service payment
See below for a list of charges associated with various incidences that Laois County Fire and Rescue Service attend. Please note this list is not exhaustive:

Road Traffic Accident | Capped at €500.00 per brigade that attends the accident; the National Predetermined Attendance Policy and Laois Predetermined Attendance Policy require a minimum of 2 brigades attend the scene, irrespective of the number of vehicles involved or the type of road the incident occurs on. Therefore, a minimum charge of €1,000.00 applies to RTAs; this charge is divided equally between all those involved/benefited from the services of the Fire Brigade. |
If you are in receipt of social welfare payments, a full-time student or are a low-income earner, you may be eligible for a waiver of up to 80% of the total invoiced amount.

How do I pay for a Fire Service Charge?
There are several payment options available to you. They are:
Online using MyCoCo
Login using your Customer ID (found on the top right-hand side of the invoice) and the PIN which was issued separately to the invoice. Follow details in attached document (attachment 3) to register and make a payment.
In person
At the Cash Office (in the Motor Tax Office), Áras an Chontae, JFL Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 EHP9 between 9:30am – 1:00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
Have your Customer ID (found on the top right-hand side of the invoice) to hand so that payment can be receipted directly to your account.
By Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
Payment can be made via your banking app/online directly to Laois County Council’s bank account.
Have your Customer ID (found on the top right-hand side of the invoice) to hand so that payment can be receipted directly to your account.
Please call 057 866 4211 for BIC and IBAN details.
Please quote your Customer ID followed by the letters FR (Fire Charges) on all electronic payments e.g. 123456FR. This ensures that the payment is allocated directly to your account upon receipt.
By post
Payment can be made via cheque/postal order made payable to: Laois County Council.
Have your Customer ID (found on the top right-hand side of the invoice) to hand so that payment can be receipted directly to your account.
Please forward to: Cash Office, Áras an Chontae, JFL Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 EHP9, quoting your Customer ID followed by the letters FR (Fire Charges) e.g. 123456FR on the back of the cheque/postal order.
By phone
Payments can be processed over the phone with a Debit/Credit Card via the Cash Office on 057 867 4308 9:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
