Dáil na nÓg Support

Laois County Council support Dáil na nÓg, the national parliament for young people, and Comhairle na nÓg, the child and youth council which give young people a say in services, policies and issues which affect them. Comhairle no nÓg members may be elected to Dáil na nÓg to debate and address issues affecting young people such as climate change, mental health, gender identity and the development of facilities for young people.

About Dáil na nÓg

Dáil na nÓg is an initiative of the Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.  Is an important forum for children and young people to bring issues of concern to policymakers. The first iteration of Dáil na nÓg took place in 2001 in the Mansion House and it remains an important element in fulfilling our commitments to include the voice of children and young people in decision making.
