Tidy Towns

The Laois Federation of Tidy Towns is an organisation committed to the preservation and enhancement of our local environment. Established in 1998, the Federation currently comprises 38 dedicated community groups across the county.

What is it?

Tidy Towns is a popular and highly sought after form of recognition which encourages the people of Laois to embrace the spirit of collaboration while carrying out community based environmental and sustainable initiatives while improving the quality of life for all residents in Laois.

Tidy Towns began with local communities focusing on litter and improving civic pride, but now encompasses a much wider programme of environmental initiatives that seek to ensure that our own towns and villages become more sustainable while improving their:

  • environmental
  • economic and
  • social performance

Laois Federation of Tidy Towns

The Laois Federation of Tidy Towns which is unique to County Laois and is supported by Laois County Council serves as a support network for these community-driven initiatives, fostering a culture of mutual encouragement and the exchange of valuable knowledge and experiences among its members.
