Arts Festivals Support

Laois County Council supports local arts festivals by providing financial support, developing and contributing to festival programmes, providing venues and promoting festivals to stimulate interest in the arts.

St. Patrick's Festival

Celebrating St. Patricks Day each year on March 17th

Bealtaine Festival

The Bealtaine festival is held each May to celebrate arts and creativity as we age.

Cruinniú na nÓg

A national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18.  Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative o to enable the creative potential of children and young people. 

Culture Night

Culture Night is held on the second last Friday in September each year. This year Laois hosted culture night on 20th September 2024.  It aims to celebrate the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement.  Look out for events in Laois for 2025 on our events page and culture night website.

Leaves Festival of Arts & Music

Held in November and now in it’s 16th year the Leaves Festival of Writing and Music is a firm fixture on the literary circuit. The festival celebrates writing and music in the beautiful setting of various locations across Laois. Leaves is the festival to enjoy contemporary writers, the art of conversation, musicians, film and theatre.
