Operation transformation began on Wednesday last, the 5th of January and continues each Wednesday at 9.30pm on Rte1 for 8 weeks. In addition to the health and fitness programme, there are a number of nationwide walks scheduled across Ireland, to promote physical activity.
This year’s Operation Transformation programme is again being supported by Healthy Ireland, as Health and Wellbeing is one of the strategic priorities for the implementation of the Healthy Ireland Programme. The Operation Transformation programme encourages us to get active and get healthy and to set goals for a different kind of new year. Over the past year, many of us turned to fitness and physical activity, as an outlet to protect our mental wellbeing.
Over the course of the show, it aims to provides us with tools that are needed to live a sustainable healthier life.
Laois Sports Partnership will be hosting a walk on Sunday 16th January in Emo. The walk will begin at 11am and prebooking is essential. Virtual walks will also be made available for those who are unable to attend the walk in Emo. To encourage people to participate in walks on the 15th/ 16th January, there will be a chance to win prizes for participants. Prizes and ways to win will be posted on their social media channels.
