Portlaoise Low Carbon Town Project is an exemplar project on Climate Action and leads the way for other communities.

We want you to Design a logo that encapsulates your vision for the Portlaoise Low Carbon Town Project.

Terms & Conditions

  1. To enter you must be resident in the Republic of Ireland.
  2. You may enter up to two pieces of artwork.
  3. All entrants must be aged 18 or over.
  4. All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Click here to download. Entries received without a completed application form will not be accepted.
  5. Only entries from individuals will be accepted i.e. entries from groups will not be accepted
  6. Your entry can be submitted in electronic or flat format (up to A4 Size or 5MB).
  7. The closing date for entries is the 10th December 2021. This date is final.
  8. Your entry must be original and cannot contain any third party imagery or text or other items. Laois County Council will not accept any responsibility arising from Copyright infringement or any other issues arising from the inclusion of such material in entries.
  9. If at any time, there is a challenge to the originality of your entry, Laois County Council  shall take reasonable steps to investigate the circumstances giving rise to the challenge. Laois County Council will then make a reasonably grounded determination as to whether to uphold the challenge, and Laois County Councils decision on this matter will be final. You may be required to forfeit your award or repay value of the prize you receive if the investigation reveals that your entry is not original.
  10. Laois County Council reserve the right to alter the winning logo as they see fit.
  11. All entries with exception to the winning entry will be returned to the unsuccessful entrants within 3 months of the closing date of the competition
  12. Laois County Council will not accept liability for loss or damage to any work submitted.
  13. The Winning entry shall be the property of Laois County Council, who shall also be the owner of the copyright.
  14. The winning entry along with the artists’ name will be used as part of Laois County Council Low Carbon Town Project and in future Competitions. Photographs of the winner together with their name and winning entry will be used in publicity campaigns in relation to Portlaoise Low Carbon Town. .
  15. The Rules of the Competition cannot be changed or modified and will strictly be applied.
  16. The name and address of the winning entry may be published by Laois County Council in documentation relative to Laois County Council operations which includes but is not limited to Council reports, publicity materials, press releases, campaigns and signage.
  17. Entries will be judged by a judging panel. The judge’s decision will be final.
  18. Entrants will be notified via email/telephone if they are the winning entry.
  19. Personal information supplied by all entrants will be made available to the judging panel and relevant staff in Laois County Council for the purposes of judging the competition and returning the entries. The personal information of the winning entrant will be used by the Council as outlined above.
