Our offices will close to the public from 4.00 p.m. on Thursday, 22nd December, 2022 and will re-open at 9.00 a.m. on Thursday, 29^th December, 2022.  The offices will also be closed on Monday, 2nd January, 2023 and will re-open at 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2023.  To report an issue on water supply/water quality or wastewater please contact Irish Water on 1800 278278.

The Planning Department will close to the public from 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, 22^nd December, 2022 and will re-open at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, 29^th December, 2022.  The Planning Department will close at 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 30^th December, 2022 with business returning on Tuesday, 3^rd January, 2023.  Pre-planning meetings are suspended until Thursday, 12^th January, 2023.

 Motor Tax, Payments Office

The Motor Tax and Cash Office (Payments Office) will close at 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, 22nd December 2022 and will re-open for business from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, 29^th December, 2022.   On Friday, 30th December, the Motor Tax & Cash Office will close to the public at 12 noon.  Business will resume on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2023 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.  For standard motor tax renewals, customers should avail of the online option at www.motortax.ie.  or alternatively by post.

Kyletalesha Landfill, Portlaoise Recycling Centre and Portarlington Recycling Centre will operate as follows over the Christmas Holiday period:

The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will be closed from Saturday, 24^th December to Wednesday, 28^th December 2022 (inclusive) and on Sunday, 1^st January, 2023 to Monday, 2nd January, 2023 (inclusive).  The Dog Pound/Shelter will be open on Thursday, 29^th December, Friday, 30th December and Saturday 31^st December, 2022 between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. for the public to bring in stray, reclaim or rehome dogs.  The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will re-open as normal on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2023.

Always remember to keep your dog under effectual control and accompanied at all times in a public place.  Ensure your dog has a microchip & certificate of ownership and a current/valid licence, available at all post offices or online at: www.licences.ie
