Our offices will close to the public from 1.00 pm on Thursday 23^rd December 2021 with telephone access available up to 4.00 pm. The offices will re-open on Thursday 30^th and Friday 31^st December 2021 with access by appointment from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm each day. Telephone access will be available from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm each day. The offices will also be closed on Monday 3^rd January 2022.  To report an issue on water supply/water quality or wastewater please contact Irish Water on 1800 278278.

Planning Department,

The Planning Department is currently open by appointment only and will close at 1.00pm on Thursday, 23^rd December 2021 and will re-open at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, 30^th December 2021.  On Friday 31^st December 2021, the Planning Department will close at 12 noon with business returning by appointment only from Tuesday, 4^th January 2022.  Pre-planning meetings are suspended until Thursday, 6^th January 2022.

The Motor Tax and Cash Office (Payments Office) will close at 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, 23rd December 2021 and will re-open for business from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Thursday 30^th December 2021.   On Friday 31^st December 2021, the Motor Tax & Cash Offices will close to the public at 12 noon.  Business will resume on Tuesday 4^th January 2022 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.  For standard motor tax renewals, customers should avail of the online option at www.motortax.ie.  or alternatively by post.

The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will be closed from Friday, 24^th December to Wednesday, 29^th December 2021 (inclusive) and on Saturday 1^st January 2022 to Monday, 3^rd January 2022 (inclusive).  The Dog Pound/Shelter will be open on Thursday, 30^th December and Friday, 31^st December 2021 between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. for the public to bring in stray, reclaim or rehome dogs by appointment only.  The Laois Dog Pound/Shelter will re-open as normal on Tuesday, 4^th January 2022 – 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m by appointment only.  The Dog Pound/Shelter is closed on Wednesdays.

Always remember to keep your dog under effectual control and accompanied at all times in a public place.  Ensure your dog has a microchip & certificate of ownership and a current/valid licence, available at all post offices or online at: www.licences.ie
